The Case:
Jennifer, a 38-year-old hair stylist, was told by her dentist that she should have her wisdom teeth removed. But in performing
the procedure, the dentist severely damaged nerves in our client's jaw, creating unbearable pain that affected her ability to
carry out even routine activities. She was prescribed highly addictive medication to cope with the pain, and developed a blockage
in her intestines as a side effect of the medicine.
The Investigation:
During the trial, the dentist claimed that she removed the wisdom teeth because of extensive decay. She showed pictures as
example. Without her knowledge, Pulley Watson had recovered the actual teeth extracted, and showed very clearly that there was no
decay at all. Experts called during the trial agreed the procedure was unnecessary and was done negligently.
The Results:
The jury awarded Jennifer full compensation for her tremendous pain and suffering, and also provided for her future medical needs.
